NEWELL—The yearly playday rodeos in Newell, put on by the Newell Community Club, are coming soon! This year, all rodeos will be held on Mondays in July with the first date being July 1 at 5:00 p.m. The Community Club has been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the arena ground is safe and ready to go. Morgan Wulf of the Community Club said that the Prize Committee has also been working diligently to come up with new prizes. “We’ve been working with local businesses to find those one of a kind, new and different prizes,” she said. “We are so excited for what we have coming this year!”
Events include barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, flag racing, and breakaway roping. Stick horse events and dummy roping are also offered for youngsters. Registration is available online at www.newellcommunityclub.com/play-days.
The awards ceremony and potluck for the four playdays will be July 29 at the City Hall. Come out to the Newell rodeo grounds and support local youth as they compete!
